Welcome aboard Hoss!  It looks like Bama and RevDoug have another outlet for hand-me-down lathes, etc.  Grin

Kate and I used the jet mini for about 9 months before Yakima "forced" me to buy his Jet 1442. Shocked  It was like a reverse robbery Roll Eyes

If we can't help you get a handle on your addicition, then you might help us to handle ours.

Did anyone mention what the membership dues are?  You have to go through the membership list and send 3 board feet of quilted bubinga to any member whose last name starts with a 'W'  That's just the rules Grin Cheesy Wink

Brian & Hoss, Welcome to this corner of the Vortex.

Brian, I remember getting snowed in there one winter.  Spent 2 days in the truck stop right at the line.  It was one of the longest weeks in my life.  Grin

Yeah, that winter was miserable. 14 inches of ice, and we rarely ever receive more than 2 inches of snow. We were out of power for 17 days. Thank God for a gas log fireplace. I was on duty the day it hit. My station had 143 runs in the first 12 hours of that shift. All stations combined had 310 runs for the shift. Most of them house fires from power surges and power lines falling on houses. Hope we never see that again. Brian.

Mark and Gary, welcome to our portion of the vortex.  Looking forward to your being vortexinated, that is addicted to our little corner.  We have a lot of fun around here and don't seem to take ourselves too seriously.  Ask any question you might have.  We have lots of answers, some of them good ones.  Jump right in with you comments as well.  We'll only make fun of you once in a while.  Actually, we'll never make fun of you unless you start it.  Enjoy yourselves, get to know us, and let us get to know you as well.  It's a pretty good family here.  8)

Gary, you haven't told us much about yourself.  How about some more information like where you're from, what you turn on, what you turn, etc.  We all want to know if we want to raid your shop for a turn.   8)

Lets see---52 years old---full time woodworker---poor----live way out in the hills of southern Kentucky. In the spring you need to call first----we go fishing. Main turning machine is a Mustard Monster--4224.  Married the right woman---have  been doing this full time for 8 years but I started turning about 37 years ago and still learning. Heck if I live long enough I just might get good at this.
