Hello All

Feels almost like home, I see so many familiar names from other forums.

I'm a traffic engineer by trade working for the state DOT in Lake City, Florida.  My dad was a cabinet builder back when kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities were custom made for each house.  I've been around woodworking all my life but didn't get heavily involved till about 10 years ago.  I have a 20 x 28 ft dedicated building in the back yard for my shop.  I do flat work but got caught up in the vortex a couple years ago.  Made a pen and before I knew it I was knee deep in turning.  I have Delta Midi and a NOVA 1624.

I belong to the Jacksonville wood turning club and have made many great friends both at the club and online.  Current projects include a maple / wenge jewelry box I just finished for the LOML, and a bedroom set that is under design and will get started real soon (at least that's what I tell her!).   Hard to do flat work with that spinny machine calling at me all the time.

I'm a daily lurker and restrict posting to when I have something of value to add.  With all the super talent here, That may not be very often!

Thanks for letting me join, looking forward to great friendships and fellowship.

Tony

Hi Tony,

And welcome.  I peeped in here one time and haven't managed to escape yet but I haven't really tried to either.

Hello, my names Rob and I'm a turn-a-holic.  I've been turning about a year now, mostly pens, bottle stoppers, some bowls.  I'm still learning on bowls.  I'll be using my vacation this year to attend a bowl turning class at John C. Campbell Folk school.  Really looking forward to it.  1 week of turning and learning.

Hi Rob, and welcome. That's a good idea to get tuition before trying bowls, it will save you some heartache.
