Well, folks, I think I just pushed 2 more (edited out) into the vortex. I gave a pen turning demo. last night and 2 guys took the bait. Each of them turned a pen and asked where they could get a mini lathe and if I'd give them more turning instruction. Grin

I let'um keep the pens they turned. They offered to pay for the kits and not being one to turn down money...

It usually only takes one time and people tend to get hooked.

You know, soon the other woodworking specialties are gonna start treating us like a cult.

Correct.

I am from SC, went to school in New Orleans and now live 30 minutes south of Savannah. Met Chris in Jacksonville and anyone else who happens our way is welcome to come by.

That's right.  Hard to keep everybody straight.  Ned, if your south of Savanah, you're not far from where I used to live when I was a kid.  For 2 years we lived on Jekyll Island, off Brunswick.  I still look back on those years with much fondness.  Love Savanah too.  Some of the best seafood I've ever eaten was there.

Still, folks in the majority of FL consider Jacksonville to be in S. GA.       8)

Great job Bud.   Grin

Since I got sucked into the vortex, I have oftern refered to woodturning as an opiate.  People sometimes look at me funny but it is very true.  Once you start "rubbin' the bevel" there is no escape.  Not that it is a bad thing...  Grin

I spent last weekend on Jekyll with my son camping. It is about an hour from us.

As for the opiate,I agree, calming and soothing, but on the addiction side more like crack, do it once and your hooked, all you talk about, allways thinking about when you get your next fix.
