I was just offered 3 apple trees and 2 peach trees.  All 5 are standing and alive, meaning
GREEN.
2 questions for you:  1)  Who is willing to come help cut and haul?  2) Who would like a flat rate box load for shipping and a donation to WR?

Reply via this thread, PM or email to me and I will put a work/cut day together.  Other wise I'll cut it all up and be really selfish with it  Wink.  If I get enough help there will be not only cutting involved but digging some of the root ball so that we can have that beautiful stuff as well.        8)

Depending on when you are going to do it and gas prices at that time I will be glad to help. I've got to cut down a walnut later. I can also get some more buckeye, osage orange, and sasafrass. I have a small red bud in my backyard that died and must come down.

A little day trip with your trailer and chainsaw will cure that.

That sounds like a great haul Rev. But unless peach wood grows differently in your neck of the woods than here in Utah, most of it might be worthless. All of the peach I've ever cut is punky, corky like wood. They're knocking down peach orchards like crazy around here to build houses but the wood doesn't even make good firewood.

You are just too durned far from Phoenix, or I would come help.  I used to run a tree service in NJ 30+ years ago, and I still have most of my felling tools and chain saw.  One fellow who was a turner used to buy a couple cords of unsplit wood every year and sort between the workshop and fireplace.  I had lots of Ash, Oak, Maple, Wild Cherry, and of course assorted fruit trees.  Now that I am turning my self, there are few supplies of good wood here.

Check your private messages.  I'm in for a share of the booty.

If you ever manage to go get more of that Osage Orange and Buckeye, you let me know and I will go and bring my chainsaw and trailer.

Yea, but no free stuff, or very little of it.  Any way to get a UHaul across the Panama Canal and the Atrato River?  If so, I'm on my way!

Hey Kid, maybe you could arrange a back haul with one of the shipments coming out of Columbia into the US.  Wink

Phil and I are cutting tomorrow, 9/22.  We'll let you know how the haul comes out after we recover from all the cutting.   8)
