What's the difference between...
Sep 12th, 2005 at 7:15pm

I was just given a brand new Poulin chainsaw.  It is green.  The local Southern States manager is giving me another Poulin for the church.  It is yellow.  What is the difference?

Oh yeah, I went a bought an orange and white deal with a 410 number.  Anyone want to take a stab?  A big "ataboy" to the one that guesses correctly.   8)

Mine is light green, yellow would be OK too, if it cuts good.

Ah, Doug, the difference is one is green and one is yellow. Roll Eyes My Husqvarna is orange.

Actually, as told to me by my local saw shop, the green color denotes "consumer" use only. The yellow color denotes "commercial" use. In other words, green you buy @ Wal-mart, yellow you buy @ a commercial saw shop. Lips Sealed

That's interesting.  The yellow one retails right now for $169 minus the $15 rebate.  Not saying your wrong and I don't know the specifics, but they are looking backwards to me at this time.

The orange and white one is not Husky, but you're close.  How's that for a clue.   8)

Orange & White?  410?  Sounds like a Stihl saw.

The orange and white sounds like a Stihl to me too.  As for the Poulan's, I have the orange colored one bought it at HD for about the same price you mentioned Rev, 18" bar came stock.  Been a good saw so far, 2 years and still cutting strong.

JimQ,
ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding
.  Not just a Stihl, but a pro model.  Thought that if I was going to go back to the gulf to cut wood, I might as well go with a saw that would not lay down on me.  Can't wait to get at it.

As to the Poulin color, I'm beginning to wonder if it is not just which plant the saw came out of and what color dye they had in the machinery at the time. 8)

Phil, I'm in Hardinsburg trying to rest up.  Pretty tired and way behind.  This weeks sermon hasn't even been started and I'm still hoping to be in Derby City this weekend.  You do have a show this weekend don't you?  Or, is that next weekend?

I'll be ready to cut some apple and peach pretty soon.  Think I have the right equipment now.  Lots of teeth, big motor, arh, arh, arh.   More power.   8)
