Woodcraft has  Fastcap glue and activator . I think its about a 10 oz bottle

thanks guys that will help a lot.I should have asked two days ago before i went though 6 two ounce bottles from my local hobby shop.

How did you use 6 two oz. bottles in a day ???? I don't think I've used 6 bottles in a year and I use all three thickness'. The link I gave you ,I think, has 16oz. bottles, maybe you should buy a couple of them Grin.

No i am not using it as a finish.The bowl i am working on is a piece of hard maple about 21" across and 8 inches deep with a really huge punky spot and spalting on it.Had i realized this before i started i would have saved it for some other time.But since i started it now i want to get it finished.Its a pain but should look nice when its done.

Lacquer thined with Acetone will work well to stiffen up the punky area.  Doesn't stain as badly as CA either.   8)

And rotted wood hardener works good also and is much, much cheaper than CA glue.
