anyone make game calls?

i have alot of friends that hunt, ALOT, and they would really apprecialte hand made game calls, but i am a little scared. how hard are they to make???

Not hard at all.  I made a deer call that's pretty cool.  Need to find it and see if it works.  Go for it.   8)

Nothing special.  The bushing kit is pretty important though.  Has some compression foam that holds everything in place.  Pretty cool how it works.  Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.  Of course that assumes that you will actually read the instructions Grin.  My experience was that if I did what they said, they actually worked.  Go figure.   8)

Yes Sir, i realized the instructioms were pretty important when i started making pens. i think i will order me up some bushings and a kit or two!!

I've made 40 or 50 duck calls.

Using the kit from Craft Supplies or Hut Products they're pretty easy, much like pens. You can get all kinds of reeds. The single and double metal reeds are by far the best duck calls. The goose call reeds are a little weird and harder to blow. You can get deer, predator, etc. If you use some real nice wood like exotic stuff they really turn out nice. Dymondwood also makes a good looking call.

mine will have to be up to many trips out to the field. they will most likely be built purely for use.
