lathe and goodies for sale
Jun 11th, 2006 at 8:10am

I have offered this stuff to Tejaswood, and am still waiting for his reply... But in the meantime, I will post it here. Here is a list of some of the stuff i am selling...

Jet 1236 lathe with: (the starter brushes are out in the motor, so now you gotta hand start the lathe, but the good part of this is that now you can reverse the lathe by spinning it by hand the other way for sanding and such)

6" toolrest
12" toolrest
drive center, and live center.

knock out rod, and a few other pins/rods that i don't really know what they are (I think they are for indexing)

Super Nova 4 jaw chuck with 3 sets of jaws (pin jaws, 25 mm, and 50 mm jaws i think, and also a set of cole jaws with the rubber bumpers.

8" slow speed grinder
Wolverine grinding jig
vari grind attachment
set of 5 Pinnacle HSS hand tools.

I will even throw in all my pen making stuff (everything you need, including some kits, to make slimlines, Euros, and Cigar pens! I will even throw in some exotic pen blanks!

There may be more that i am forgetting. If anyone is interested, let me know and i will send you an actual inventory list.

Lets hope its a new workshop...

Wheels, I really appreciate the thought, and offer, But i am not good with charity, even from friends.

Don't worry, me selling my equipment is only temporary. I am young, so i can always buy more tools later!

Again, thanks for the offer!!

Man you guys are pretty cool!!!

Seriously, I really appreciate the offers, but like i said, i don't really do charity, not as long as I have a strong back anyway!!! And i am in no position to take a loan.

I will still hang out here on WR, and will be getting another lathe asap, but for now i need the cash alot worse than i need the hobby.

Junior, there must be something we as a group can do to help wether you sell your turning equipment or not. Please don't think of help as charity, it's more like people who care willing to help. People who want to do good can only do so if those who need the help will accept it. I learned this over a decade ago when my then 5yr old daughter was shot in the head as she slept. It takes a bigger man to accept help. Like you I could always get along on my own. I love that spirit in people. Man sometimes it just gets to be too much. When you joined this group I assume it was to get help and advise. Well Junior, here it is.

Yes Sir, that is why i joined this site. I joined for the advice, not money.

I sold my equipment today. to Tejaswood. Due to my inability to hide excitement, even on the internet, everyone here would know i was lying if i said i was happy about selling my equipment, but yet and still.

I really appreciate the concern, and the offers, but things are ok now. I will get another lathe, and until then i will hang out here and be the WR cheerleader!!!
