Jim Syvertsen has the best selection of Aussie burls, plus he's a nice guy

West Penn Hardwoods has a great selection of almost everything, good people to work with

For anyone on the east coast close enough to visit, check out Righteous Woods in Rowley MA

I also agree about Gilmer's, but it's also best to be able to see their stuff and pick out your own.

Mitch Talcove is also a good guy with lots of nice looking stuff and does a pretty good job of internet sales - he really knows his stuff and knows what turners want when they call.

Of course, I have traded wood with several folks via the USPS Flat Rate boxes, and that is a cool way to acquire wood that I would not usually find in my part of this world.

. You have to contact them with what you are looking for. If they have any they will custom cut the pieces you need as soon as the weather permits and have it on the way shortly after than. I ordered some on Tuesday and had it in hand on Friday. I guess I could have had it Thursday except that they had a day of rain the day after I ordered it. Great folks to work with. Give them a try.
