Frank Miller Lumber Co for anything qtr sawn
frankmiller.com

Jim Syvertsen has the best selection of Aussie burls, plus he's a nice guy
australianburls.com

West Penn Hardwoods has a great selection of almost everything, good people to work with
westpennhardwoods.com

For anyone on the east coast close enough to visit, check out Righteous Woods in Rowley MA
righteouswoods.net

I also agree about Gilmer's, but it's also best to be able to see their stuff and pick out your own.

Mitch Talcove is also a good guy with lots of nice looking stuff and does a pretty good job of internet sales - he really knows his stuff and knows what turners want when they call.

This is a well known wood supplier in Arizona, but they are also heavily into mail and internet sales.  I have always found their wood to be first rate.

I have never purchased any turning wood, so my favorite supplier is Mother Nature. Of course, I have traded wood with several folks via the USPS Flat Rate boxes, and that is a cool way to acquire wood that I would not usually find in my part of this world.

I just had a great experience with a father/son operation out of TN.  The web site is Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register.  You have to contact them with what you are looking for.  If they have any they will custom cut the pieces you need as soon as the weather permits and have it on the way shortly after than.  I ordered some on Tuesday and had it in hand on Friday.  I guess I could have had it Thursday except that they had a day of rain the day after I ordered it.  Great folks to work with.  Give them a try.

Since I run a sawmill I usually don't buy much wood but when I do, these are the two vendors I use:

My fav. with out a doubt is Victor at Landfill Lumber. You couldn't ask for a nicer or more helpful person. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about him.

I don't know if he has a web site but his email is treymendous77@yahoo.com
