I am a game call maker and was wondering if anyone has any tips on finishing Gaboon Ebony and Cocobolo to a high gloss.

Sand to a really high grit and buff with the Beall system.

Not sure on the gaboon ebony, but with the cocobolo don't use any oil and just like Rev said go with superfine paper and buff. The finer you go the smoother and higher the gloss.

Cocobolo - use MicroMesh to 12000.  You will think you had a high gloss finish on it.

You know, some people have problems with cocobolo.
I don't know if placing your lips on this wood can cause a problem.

Like others have said, polish the bare wood to a high sheen and you will be fine.
