How is epoxy for mixing...isn't epoxy kindof thick?  or is that what you want?  I probably wouldn't want the 5 minute epoxy...wouldn't it take about a good 5 minutes to mix up thoroughly  Wink

I use Devcon epoxy, the kind you can buy at the hardware store. Bert's right, 5 minute epoxy sets too fast. I use the two hour stuff.

Several years ago I heard about, and have since used many times, coffee grounds pressed into the void set in place with thin CA.  The coffee acts as a natural accelerator and seems to work well.  The resulting fill looks a bit like a dark bark inclusion.  give it a try and see what you think about it.

I have also used the coffee grounds (with CA) with good results, after turning it looked
like some dark grain.
I also use sanding dust.  I keep some in little jars (a diff jar for each diff wood type),
and when glued in (I use the CA), and then turned, often can't even tell where the
crack was.

Just another 2 cents.   Smiley

For color, I have used pastels and CA.  Embossing powder also works.  I posted it here somewhere but can't find it.
