tip about benchtop belt/disc sanders
Feb 24th, 2008 at 2:08pm

Ive got one of those 3x21 benchtop belt disc sanders and have been getting alot of vibration/chatter with it every time i went to sand something on it ...the slightest pressure and it would start chattering and vibrating..very very annoying to say the least...
Well i thought that it was the cog belt slipping or something inside..couldnt get to it so started looking at other things that might cause it ...discovered an adjustment set screw.....
Under the belt on the top of the base about center there is a screw with a locking nut ...loosen the locking nut and take a couple turns on that set screw and lock back down ..all chatter and vibration went away!..yeah ...happy camper now!

So ...if any of you are have the same problem with one of these try adjusting that tension screw (found out thats what its for )...just a little tip for FYI
