Poly Oophs

OK. This is some bald cypress I got from (I can't say cause you are not supposed to remove wood from the land fill in Orange county).
It was really wet as and water was on my face mask and the walls and everywhere else.
I thought I had it dry according my moisture meter so I finished it with some poly spray.
After the second layer of spray I let it set for a few days. It started to bleed "goo" to the outside.
What is the best way to remove this "goo" and finnish this piece?

nuturner Ex Member	Re: Poly Oophs Reply #2 - May 16^th, 2008 at 11:03pm As far as I know, the fact that you're on a mac shouldn't be a problem. If your image file is larger than 50KB, that could be a problem. Just about any quality poly finish remover sould handle the task you describe.

OK. I made it 1" x 1.5" at 72 dpi. File size is 23K.
Still wont post.

OK. It did post but it didn't show in the preview. It is very small and hard to see. (My wife says that a lot) I'm talking about my pictures.
What dimensions do other use to post here?

I do not want to remove the finish that is already on the piece, just get the "sap" cleaned up so I can spray more coats of Polyurethane on.
What would work for that? Mineral Spirits, DNA, Other?

What you're going to need to do is to take the finish off, apply a coat of shellac, then finish as you prefer. Somebody may have a better idea, but I'm afraid that's the drill at this point.

You can't apply a finish on green wood. (BTW - It's definitely your Mac that the problem )

nuturner-I understand the concept of dpi and resolution. I have been using Photoshop for years.
Some days I get up and forget to take my "antistupid pill"
I remembered it this morning. What I did was to save a standard jpeg from Photoshop.
This leaves lots of original data in the file that is not needed.
I saved out the photos for web and devices and now I have small file size like the example you showed me.
(nice box by the way).
When I shoot my turnings I use a Canon 40D and shoot in RAW. This gives me a file of about 11MB
I know it's overkill but one time I had an eagle in my back yard and I ran for my camera to get some shots.
I forgot that I had set it to shoot low res jpeg previously. I realized this after the eagle flew away.
I think that was another morning I forgot my "antistupid pill"
