Rikon 14" Deluxe Bandsaw  Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register

Does anybody own one?  If yes --   are satisfied with it.    Pros ?  --  Cons?

Seems like a lot of saw for the money.

how about some advice!

I really like the 13" resaw capacity.

My how things have changed.  Back when I got my 18" it was just $100 more than this one.  Now it's $1400!! Shocked  But at the time, the 14" didn't have a 13" resaw capacity either.  Hmmmmmm

I totally love my 18" and I've heard great things from the 14" owners.  WOOD magazine had rated the 18" as the top bandsaw in it's size class.  There has been a lot of discussion about this saw, just dig around with your searching.

Paul,
I have this BS & it does a fantastic job. I will say that setting the rollers can be a pain in the (edited out) but overall it's a very good saw.

I've had mine for a few months now. Works very well.  2 things I don't like, and they're only a minor inconvenience- the insert around the blade is slightly lower than the table, and the flexible post for the light doesn't hold the light's weight. I've already killed 3 bulbs when it hit the table after trying to set it where I want it. I'm still using the blade that came with it, and I think it will be even better when I get a new, better blade.

That reminds me.  I heard the same thing from another guy at the symposium about the light being weak.  Funny, the 18" model didn't come with a light.  Huh

Leo,
The light is weak & cause it's on the back of the machine you have to put it near the blade it doesn't come near enough & if your re-sawing forget to even use it. I don't use it at all cause I have a 4' fluorescent light up above mine.
