how do i make cellulose sanding sealer please

i understand it is made from talc and thinners, i got a box of my wifes talc added some thinners and tried to use it on some oak legs i was making. It left the legs with white makes from the sealant in it not like when i use the bought stuff.any ideas pse.Is there any other adative to this mixture

Your best bet is to purchase it.  Sanding sealer has typically been a lacquer product.  Recently sanding sealers have been based on varnishes and urathanes.  Even shelac has been used.  So, it really depends on what base you want to use, then the appropriate thinner so that it bonds well with the wood, and finally a lubricating medium that will mix.

Thanks for the info.I found that using shellac sealant takes a while to dry whereas cellulose sealant is far quicker.Anyway the wood smells very nice after using my wifes talc in the mixture.
