What happened today?
Nov 20th, 2008 at 4:45pm

I happened to attempt to logon early this morning and found a godaddy "placeholder" for the url instead the forum.  I am just curious about what happened.  I came to the site from my bookmark and also typed in the url and got the same result.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Yes, I was shocked and distraught but I'm OK now.

All I could think about was 'how are all these Americans going to manage without me' so you must all be very relieved now.

Just a hiccup in the renewal system...I thought it was in one place when it was actually another, therefore I hadn't set up a reminder correctly.  Sorry about that...life happens.   Wink

Whew! Thanks Chris

I want to apologize, I received dozens of emails and a few phone calls today about the problem. I just couldn't answer them all. Thanks for everyone's patience.

Whew!  My e-mails to the admin address bounced and then I found I had yours, Ron, from when you acknowledged receipt of the calendar photos, so I tried that.  Glad it wasn't something serious like a hijacking or something.  Smiley

Everything is good wheels.  I actually haven't done anything in wood for about 10 months now and strangely don't miss it much.  Leatherworking, motorcycles and other adventures are coming along nicely though.  Who would have thought there is life beyond the lathe?  Wink

I know all of you were worried.  I appreciate that.  Thank you all for your patience and for not jumping ship when we went down.  Not many of you were around when we were hacked.  Chris had the whole thing by himself and it was a while before we got it back together.  We've been going for quite a while with out any hiccups.  When we went down this morning I thought, "Oh no, we've been hacked again and we'll never get back up again."  Boy was I glad when I learned that it was a simple fix and that we just needed to get take care of one little issue.  Ron and Chris, you guys have come to the rescue yet again.  Thank you so much.  After the last 10 days that I've had, I'm not sure I could bare losing WR too.

WOW, Good thing I was at work when it happened. I would have had to call out the FBI, SWAT team, bloodhounds, etc... & inform them one of my favorite sites is off the air.

Thanks Chris.  I understand how things happen.  I figured it was something like that since it was a godaddy page.

I appreciate what all of you admin types do to keep this thing running.  In the grand scheme of things, that's pretty minor hiccup.  Smiley
