Ok, Rev threw out the topic, and we've had a discussion going for the last week on who is showing their work via a web site. How many people would like to have a discussion area on the how-to-do-its of web site design and hosting as it would apply to wood turners?
I know some of your are well versed on the subject, and others, like myself, don't really know where to start. Are those of you who are knowledgeable willing to answer questions and help others take plunge? Are there any who are interested in finding out how to set up, design, and run a web site to show your work?
Would you be interested in combining it with discussion on reaching galleries, handling shows, and how to best present our work in web pictures and at shows?
We might call it "Display Techniques," or "Presentation," or my favorite, "Marketing." We have had some discussions along these lines before, and I know there are forums that are dedicated to parts of this, but not as it pertains to turning. I think that we could use a combination discussion area. If we have enough interest, we would create a seperate section like finishing.
Ron said to run it up the flagpole. Let us know what you think.
