The Classifieds section of this forum is provided as a secondary courtesy to allow you to place classifieds for wood turning-related items for sale or trade. Please read the rules for this forum


The WR Classified (WRC)


WRC CLASSIFIEDS POLICY:


  • WR Forum is a place for wood turning enthusiasts to get together and discuss turning. All other functions are secondary to this goal. The WRC is NOT an online marketplace.
         
  • The Classifieds section of this forum is provided as a secondary courtesy to allow you to place classifieds for wood turning-related items for sale or trade.
         
  • The WRC is the ONLY place that items for sale or for trade posts are allowed. Members who post outside of the WRC will have their thread deleted without notice.
         
  • We do not provide a secure transaction environment. The actual transactions and interactions are, and should be, entirely separate from this forum. This is NOT a trading community. As a result, transaction feedback, positive and negative, is NOT WELCOME.
         
  • It is your responsibility to determine the trustworthiness of the folks you are dealing with. The Administrators and Moderators make no warranty, expressed or implied, regarding the quality, condition or suitability of any items sold here.
         
  • Each Thread Header must start with the following:
                 
    WTB = Want To Buy
                  FS = For Sale
                  WTT = Want To Trade
                  BIZ = Business Ad

         
  • Only Supporting members, members with 25 or more posts and Business Sponsors can list items for sale.
         
  • All off-topic discussions or threads will be deleted.
         
  • The asking price or trade value of item(s) being sold or traded must be provided when the item is posted.
         
  • Please include your Real Name, email, and general geographic location (city and state).
         
  • Negotiations of the price should occur via PM's or email, not on the thread. Negotiations posted in the thread will be deleted without notice.
         
  • Links to photographs, although not required, are highly recommended because they assist both the seller and buyer in determining the value and desirability of the item in question.
         
  • EBAY and CRAIGSLIST POLICY: Do not add links to Ebay or Craigslist. Directions to links are not acceptable.
         
  • PRICING DEBATES: If you believe that a seller is asking too much for an item, you have two choices:
           
    • A. Email or PM the seller, and ask about the price... it's always possible that the seller would appreciate advice on current market value.
                   
    • B. Do nothing.
                 
      It is NOT acceptable to openly question the sellers' prices in their threads. It's rude, and it most likely ruins the seller's chances of selling the item. If you are right, and the item is priced too high, it will not sell. It's that simple. If the item does sell... well, obviously it wasn't priced too high, now was it?

  • Managing a Want-Ad
    If you sell your item, or if the want-ad is no longer viable, you can simply add a message "item sold" or something similar. Also you can add add a post to indicate changes such as "items 3 and 4 were sold, items 1 and 2 are still available"

  • Manufacturing or reselling items for sale
    If you are manufacturing or reselling a product on an ongoing basis you are considered a business. Please see below.

Business Partners

  • If you are a business you most become a Business Sponsor, WR Vendor, or a Preferred Vendor to post in this forum.
  • You are allowed one ad per week.
  • All the rules above apply.
  • All ads expire after 30 days, at that point they will be deleted. You are welcomed to place a new ad at that time.
         
  • Only Woodturning Related Products Will Be Allowed
         
  • You can use the WRC to announce new features, sales prices, or other information about your Woodturning products that would be useful to other forum members.
         
  • You may not use the WRC for comparisons with competing products.
         
  • The WRC will be open for all registered members to view, but all communication pertaining to a sale with commercial posters will be done via Private Messages or e-mail.
         
  • The WRC is the ONLY place that commercial posts are allowed. Business Partners who post commercial ads outside of the WRC will get one warning. Any additional offenses will be dealt with in a gradient manner, up to and including removal of posting privileges.
         
  • There is a yearly subscription to become a Business Sponsor. For more information Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register
