The light fixtures are cheap clamp-on units from the Borg. The stands are some that I had already...a boom mic stand and a cheap boom camera tripod. The backdrop is held in place with metal binder clips and rare earth magnets.

Any way, back to your photo booth, you using magnets to hole the back drop in place or what, it kinda looks like its screwed into place, ya can't really tell.

Wizzy, check out the last two pics in my post...one shows the metal binder clips that are attached to the backdrop, and the other shows the stacks of rare earth magnets on the outside, stuck to the binder clips through the fabric. (You can see a faint outline of the clips through the fabric in the last pic.) By using the magnets, I can easily adjust the backdrop up or down to change the shading behind the turned object I'm photographing.

) I need to get a new one some day, since this one is getting a bit scratched up. I think I'll go for a darker one next time, just so I'll have a choice between darker or lighter backdrops.

And I have no idea what the fabric is. I just wandered through a fabric store looking for something white and kind of translucent... Cheesy

My bulbs are just ordinary compact fluorescents and I have to do some color correction on most pics because the background comes out kind of pinkish. I have the camera white balance set to fluorescent but I guess it is different with the compact ones.

Dave, they're 5000º K compact florescent bulbs I got on eBay. I think they are 35 watts each. They're geared for photography, and the 5000º K is supposed to be a good "daylight" spectrum range.
