Shocked Would you prefer that we claim copyright to your photos? Shocked

The reason for the reasonable restrictions is there are people who have small screens and are on dial up.

I see nothing reasonable about that. Its not your bandwidth thats used for the pictures hosted elsewhere. As to small screens: should we reserve a lane on all major hi-ways for horse drawn carriages? Or should I reduce the picture palette to 16 colors to better suite those who still have EGA monitors that cannot handle more?

These are my pictures, and I intend them to be best viewed on a reasonably modern equipment (made in the past 7 years or so). I do not place any restrictions on viewing them on older equipment, but I make no warranties that they will be properly visible. In addition, I do not place any restrictions on criticism of the content or execution of the pictures or the pieces depicted in them. However, anyone viewing them is expressly forbidden to alter the file in any form, or to request any alterations of this kind, including resizing.

Here, you now have read my EULA.

Bandwidth is a 2-way thing.

Reasonably modern equipment barely explains the situation. You can get a brand new mac laptop with a 11" screen. At work I use a  6 year old 22" monitor.

Your EULA is not accepted on WR.

To keep the record correct --  The lowest priced Mac laptop is $999  specs....   (copied from their site)  13.3-inch widescreen display. With pixel-perfect 1280-by-800 resolution.  Not too bad...

I stand corrected Paul.

I was thinking of a laptop one of my daughter's friends had over the house over the holidays. It had the tiniest screen I ever laid my eyes on. I remember her saying it was 11". Maybe she she uses a different ruler.

Ron,

I have been a support of Apple since 1979--  with the apple II   before the apple II+..

In 1984 purchased my first mac --  very close to the first Mac in the serial number list.

Since then I have keep up with the progression to the newest macs..   somewhere around 20 different macs in that time span.

I use the newest macbook-pro now and will never go back to a desktop...  (all of this for right or wrong - I am just a mac fan)
Of course I was force to use a windows machine to support the School districts networks  being a Technology specialist for about 15 years.
The transition from an all apple to all Microsoft was not easy for teachers to accept  --  but it happened..

The screen on my mac and even the smallest mac laptop is superb.   Even my iPhone has a very clear high resolution screen.  If the quality of the originating file is of good quality then the view is superb...   nothing can make a poor quality photo good --  some faking can be done but garbage IN is garbage out.

Love my MAC along with my PM 3520  ----  I really do like WR...  you have a big responsibility in maintaining the site and putting up people like me..  Keep doing a doing good job  --  with thanks Paul

My wife just got a new laptop. The screen is about 17" wide but only about 12" tall. I don't like laptops myself.

I realize I'm talking to an ex-member here, but I can't help myself.  bang head

Are you saying that your turning and your photography is so finely-detailed that you can't show it with anything less than 3000 x 2000 pixel RAW files? This isn't the Louvre, man...heck, I'm guessing with your "EULA", you couldn't even show your pics on the del Mano site.  Roll Eyes

In Lancaster PA, many Amish families use horse drawn carriages as a mode of transportation when going into town.

They have the right of way over cars and trucks.

The reason I posted this wasn't about Macs but more about the old OS that some people use.

Windows 95?

Also there is a good chance where you see Windows NT... those people just might be at work. Most (but not all) home based systems do not run WIN NT

Sounds like a Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register, a.k.a. EEE Pc. I don't think there's a Mac with the small form factor, but they can be purchased with Windows or Linux.

In a pinch, I've browsed the forums on my cell phone. Makes it a bit difficult to pick out any details in the pics, though.  Roll Eyes

Keep in mind that Windows NT 5.0 = Windows 2000, NT 5.1 and 5.2 = Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, and NT 6.0 = Windows Vista, so a lot of those "NT" machines could well be home computers. Based on what I saw in the software business, not a lot of companies are still running true NT 4.0 on machines that are connected to the Internet.
