Well guys I might have been one of the last to enter this C&T and guess what... just finished my piece. While I am sure most of yours will turn out better (pun intended smiley=slap.gif), but I am pretty pleased with my very first lidded box.

Even tried out by beal 3-On buffing wheel set up.

Anyway just wanted to wish you guys the best on finishing your projects. Can't wait to see who I get paired up with.

Do I need to post a list of people who have already received the "box", or has someone else already taken care of that?

I am getting back to the lathe tomorrow. The week extension had been a great relief because I've had a bit of a rough ride health wise which is something I can't predict but all OK now so will get at it again. Good thing is that I do have a box but I want to do a better one so I had a hunt through my mates 30 year old indoor log pile and found some very dry wood that might do the trick.

Man am I out of pratice... This was a good test though. My first the wood was green and move around some ahhrrggg. The second I had a boo boo and the grain doesn't match as I wanted it to, the third so better but I would have liked the lid to fit tighter.. Who ever gets me will have their choice of one of the three.... Walnut, Pecan, Ash...

Good Challenge !!!! (whens the next one ??) Wink

Its finished, but not the piece I started out with, remember my bruised left eye... that was attempt number 3. I finally finished attempt number 6, went through 2 pecan, 2 locus and 2 mystery wood, the mystery wood won out!
