Ron,
How can we delete the pics from the Gallery?  I have been looking and can't find a way...

Jeff,

I found it hard as well but then I discovered that if you click on a picture and bring it up there are icons below the part where you describe the picture and one of them, bottom left I think, is an edit button and then you can scroll down the new page and select delete.  You have to do this for each picture unless someone knows a faster way.

Done,
The pic of me in my WR forum hat/respirator is gone. If anybody wants a 4' x 6' keepsake let me know I still got it on photobucket.  Cool

Well, I noticed this is open for comments so I want to share mine.  First of all I really like the changes that have been made to WR and think it's going in the right direction to be "THE" woodturning website.  I also, think limiting the gallery to completed turnings is a good idea.

However, I personally think it's a little much to ask people to delete pictures already posted.  As long as they are not innappropriate I don't see the problem with them staying.  I think it adds that little bit of flavor that makes WR relaxed and not stuffy or a cookie cutter website.  I think what pictures are already posted should be left alone.  I believe there is something to be said about clicking on a person's profile in the gallery and not only seeing there work, but there lathe, grinder, dog, etc....  I know we can move them to the forum but it's not the same.

Having said that, I will eventually move or delete all my pics as requested.  I appreciate the grace period you gave us ron. Just my $.02

I appreciate your comments Travis, you make some very valid points that are worth considering.

I have another idea that I've been playing around in my head, nothing really concrete enough to mention, but I think your thoughts will go well with my next idea. Thank You.

I hate to be a nail sticking up (they always cause trouble) but I have to agree with Travis. Also, does this mean the tools and equipment gallery will be gone? I go there time and again looking at people's  home made tools and hollowing systems. I doubt they could be found when needed trying to look them up in the forum. Turning is so much more than just the completed piece. As all here know tooling seems to be our favorite expenditure or gets the greates effort other than the turning itself. Seems to me the sub-catagories in the gallery have worked very well indeed and gives WR a unique gallery...Bill...

Ron,
A question. In the gallery could we possibly have a shop area? by this i mean anything that pertains to our shops. Building a new one , renovating  existing one, questions on Elect, DC, grinders, lathe benches, shop dogs/cats  etc...

Or maybe take a poll & see what the others think of this?

Got it Ron.  I should have known that I'd have to go to the secure area, re-entering password information, to make this kind of change.  These night shifts are starting to take a toll on the old boy.

For now, until I come up with a working idea, lets leave the tools pics that are in the gallery where they are.

In the future, if one of us builds a thread in the forum about building a tool along with pictures,  I plan on adding a link in the Multimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or Register to make it easy to find.

I like the idea of the workshop area, and see how that could be useful in numerous ways.

I have to agree with Bama I like some of the old stuff like tools dogs shops etcetera. I don't like to complain to much but it dose seem as if we are becoming just like the other forums. I enjoy the friendly nature of the forum as it is now. Maybe I am having a hard time with change.

As requested, cleaned up my gallery which was likely the largest one of all.  Deleted 13 pages (which is approx. 208 pictures) of various pics.   Shocked
