feeling good
May 13th, 2009 at 6:43pm

Received a fantastic compliment today.
A show coordinator sent me an email asking that I please consider doing their show (the applications have been closed for over a month). When I called her up, she  begged me to do it. I agreed and got a few concession out of the deal to boot.
There is a waiting list to get into this show, but her major spindle turner backed out yesterday and they wanted me to take his spot. Even though it is a juryed show, they are waving the whole review thing for me.

It made me feel very good, not for being able to skip through the process, but because I was the one they wanted to fill the spot.

Hope it pans out well for you.
Wondering how they knew of you - sounds like a story behind the story.
Somehow you've made and left an impression. way to go

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

No real big back story, there are litterally 1000's of fiber tool makers out there. Of that there is maybe 100 that are generally known, about 30 that have a decent name in the business (I fall into that catagory) and maybe a dozen that are very well known. But, the biggest reason is probably that I am the only known fiber tool maker that is local. For that matter I only know of probably 5 others in the emedate area, but they are not as known for their tools.
