Display pedestals

A while back I turned a cherry vase for the WMU that they presented to the church.  The church is going to place it in the antrium of the new building.  Today the minister of education asked if I could build a pedestal.  Any suggestions as to materials and design?

TIA

I would go with a single turned column, with a three legged base and a round turned top. You could modify the plans from any pedestal table and adjust height and size to suit the size of the vase. If it will go against a wall then it would be much simpler to do a wall shelf.

Thanks Don, I have just about got the pedestal completed.  I am waiting on the plexiglass cube to cover the vase.

Built out of curly maple with a dark walnut stain, the pedestal stands 42 inches high and a little over 16 inches square.
