Fall Has Arrived Wood Swap

Dead line to sign-up is midnight,
Saturday October 17, 2009
.

We have many new members, so here's the drill.  Over the next two weeks you send me a PM with your name, mailing address, what you normally turn, what you are most likely to send, and any woods you have allergies to.

Once the dead line has passed you will receive the name and address of the person you partnered with.

What you send is a USPS Flat Rate box full of wood that you have said you would send.  I would like to think that everyone will send wood the quality of what you would like to receive.

Dead line for sending out your wood will be Friday, October 23, 2009

If something comes up and you are going to be delayed, please contact your partner and me so that we know what is going on and can make other arrangements if needed.

This is a fun opportunity to trade some wood with folks in another area of the country.  You may get a wood that you have some of already.  You may get something that you've never even heard of before.  But you don't have any idea what you'll get until you sign up and get some of your wood in the mail to your trading partner.

Get your PM's in to me ASAP.  You don't want to be left out of the fun!

It would probably help if you specified what the minimum size of the flat rate box should be so we don't worry we sent too small a box by mistake.  The last one was fun and I intend to participate in this one as well.  Jeff.

There are 3 of the flat rate boxes that the PO uses.  The largest one is more expensive.  Use either of the less expensive boxes.  I'm not sure what they mail for now.  Anyone who has mailed in one recently, please jump in here and answer this question.

We have been using the Medium Flat Rate boxes for the exchange.  Usually the 5X9X12.

FRB1 and 2 are the boxes we're talking about.  So, it costs all of us $10.35.  I just got internet access today so those of you who have sent me your information and are not on the list yet will be soon.  The list is getting longer.  Who else needs to get in?  Don't get left out.

Time is running out.  Only 4 days left to sign on.  There are only 9 participants so far.  That's fine, but it is a lot more fun with more people.  Come on,
who else wants to play?
Check the list above and make sure your name in there.  If not, send me a PM with name, mailing address, wood you are likely to send, any wood allergies you may have, and what style of turning you usually do.  The FUN is getting closer.

You gonna think yourself right out of it.  Best get it in gear old boy.  It's not like you don't have any wood to ship out.

The dead line has arrived.  The number of participants is an odd number and will lend to a round-robin type of trade.  So, this is what I have done to arrange all participants and who you will send wood to.  I have posted all the names and other info into an excel file sort of kind of as they came in.  Once the allotted time had come I used "Randomizer" to spit out the numbers in a random order.  The list will show who you send wood to.
This is not a direct trade.

I will send out PM's out soon with the contact information.  Have fun.

Sender:                                       Sends to:
Kevin Wells                                  Ken Ward
Ken Ward                                     Paul Hinds
Paul Hinds                                    Bill Blassic
Bill Blassic                                    Jim Quarles
Jim Quarles                                   Dale Giliaspy

Don Leydens                                 Jeff Braunsheidel
Jeff Braunsheidel                           Harris Gottlieb
Harris Gottlieb                               Kevin Wells

Once you get your PM, check it against this list.  If I sent you the wrong info, let me know and I will get the correct into to you ASAP.

Get your boxes in the mail and on the way.  Please post both, when you get your box in the mail and when you receive a box.  Let me know if you run into a problem getting your wood out or if you don't receive any.  I can't fix it if I don't know about it.  Enjoy a bit of Christmas in October.
