Small show

Had the show at the retirement community yesterday.  Dale G joined me there.  Turn out and sales were disappointing, as there were other activities going on else where in the community.

We were invited back for another show next month.  It is coupled with a marketing campaign with more than 15,000 invitations going out.  Last year they had more than 25% response from their invitations.  We should have much better sales then even though we will not be the only vendors.

And before Chuck says anything, we have pictures.

I found some neat pen trays on the internet.  They are 16.5" by 12".  I cut them in half length wise.  Glued a strip of 3/4" clear plastic corner protector (Lowes) along the bottom edge, and reinforced them with 1/8" hardboard underneath.  I used a 1X2 under the back edge to give a little tilt.  One got 1" under the front edge and 2" at the back to give it lift for a second row.  I think they looked pretty good.

That display looks great Jim.  I would have great difficulty deciding which pens I would buy because they all look superb.

Jim,
Fantastic set up. Like Bre I would have a hard time picking one. I also like your idea of putting pen blanks on display to show what you start with.

Nice-looking display guys.  smiley=thumbsup.gif  Sorry to see the sales were a disappointment.

I like your pen trays Jim. It gives me ideas for making one. With a round-nose router bit and Incra fence on the router table, and spray flocking, it looks doable.

In plastic, 20 trays cost about $65 with shipping. The backing for 12 cost another $20.

Ordering 10 sheets or less comes out to the same $9.90 shipping charge, so that was what I ordered.
