Hello from Mesquite Heaven South Texas

Hi, I am new here and just want to learn a little more about turning.  I am in the tree business and have been saving interesting pieces of Mesquite for awhile.  Can't wait to turn them into art.

Yes, it is a good job for collecting wood.  I am no wood turner.  I may get into it in the near future though.

Welcome Andy, you may find quite a few customers on here for the right wood, it will help towards the cost of setting up for turning. I of course will take any wood as payment for this suggestion, I will not even charge you any postage or packaging to take it off your hands. Cheesy. Roll Eyes

Hey Andy,

Way to long of a learning curve to start turning.  Best to send all that mesquite to me and I'll send you a piece now and then.  Just think if you start turning how your tree cutting productivity will go way down.  You'll start looking at how you want to cut that tree for turning which means more time taken to cut the tree.  All that relates to less income and at a time when buying more turning tools.  I say why risk it.  More income, less work for you, no added tool cost and you get stuff.  I see no down side in just sending it to me.Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Dale, your spiritual future is assured because, many years from now, people will be praying to Saint Dale of Colorado for advice and guidance.  This is not the first time you have selflessly offered to shoulder another's wood burden in order to save them from future catastrophe.  I have a lump in my throat...

What a guy!!!
