Hello

very new to turning here, just bought a little lathe on impulse as had a go at a mates house and enjoyed it!  So far not created any kindling, just a couple of bowls and plates, and really enjoying turning green oak (well, it is free! Grin) but struggling with getting the right angles on my tools!

I would say he is in the UK.  His profile says "Leicester."

James,
The best thing to make is a "go-no go" gauge for your chuck. One side is the smallest you can hold the other side is the biggest you can hold.

Welcome James, This is a great site and will help you out a lot. It has already helped me.
Someone has already asked where are you located ?? I was wondering about that also. We have a town near us in North Carolina about 15 miles North named Leicester, it  is named after the one in England.
Good Luck and Happy Turning,

Dave
