hi folks, i'm a new turner but growing up i watched my grandfather do lots of turning and even witnessed him loose a finger. after he passed his lathe ( a vey old rockwell) sat collecting dust for about 20 years and i decided to put it to use so when i brought it home i quickly made lots of piles if shavings and not much else (i remember watching him and he sure made it look easy) but i didnt give up and recently i purchased a slightly used general 260. sometimes i get frustrated and have to leave the workshop, but all a have to do is look at some pics of bowls and other turnings on sites like this and  my motivation quickly comes back, long story short i'm here to learn from others and continue my grandfathers passion.

thanks

Hi and welcome.

British Columbia...one of the best road trips I ever did was from Edmonton to Vancouver Island and up to Courtenay.  I have wonderful memories of it.
