Greetings from Denmark
Mar 28th, 2010 at 2:16pm

Hi all,

As a child, I used my fathers/grandfathers workshop to turn wood. And repairing furniture. Unfortunately the shop closed 12 years ago, and I havent had a turningtool in my hand since then. But in a few months, I'll be getting a small workshop nearby. And will be getting into woodturning again, and I'm lokking forward to it SO much  Smiley

I'm also a graphics designer.

Best regards
Søren

Hi Soeren,

And welcome.  I'm sure you'll find lots of useful information here and, if you can't find what you are looking for just ask, someone will be along to help you soon.

Thank you very much everyone, for the overwhelming welcomst.

For those interested in more data on me, I can tell that I grew up in a family og carpenters (is it the right word for furnituremakers?). My Dad, grandfather and greatgrandfather were all carpenters. Dad and Granddad had a furnuturefactory, until the early 80's.

I'm interested in many crafts, and I've been working one summer on a living museum, where all crafts from the 1850's where present. There I worked as a blacksmith, and handfoched horse-shoes.

And we had a woodturner, with a foot-driven turner. VERY hard to run with your feet, while handling the piece with the hands.

I've been working as IT-tech-guy, systemdeveloper, photographer and graphics artist. I worked to much, and now suffers from depressions, but I'm on my way up, thanks to my talented shrink.

So now I have lots of time, to nurse my hobbies (including coffee roasting and photographing). I'm excited to get a piece of wood in my hands again. And the smell of freshly cut wood, and teak-oil. Oh yearh!
