Pendant?
07/11/10 at 16:17:14

I recently saw (cant remember the website hence the question) a very nice pendant demo (also for ear rings) simple, basic but effective using a 'glue block' and screw chuck with two different holes and double sided tape.

I cannot find the website, I am sure it was stateside. Does anynone know the site or can you let me know a link to making such an item?

Thanks

Nick Arnull -- quite a talented turner and author provided this

There is another article on IAP (International Association of Penturners) in the library based on Nicks work but takes it to greater detail

This link will lead you to a pendant jig and videos. I own the jig and like it.

I think Ruth Niles is now selling those pendant etc excentric turning jigs --  I have one also.

The screw chuck and small wood block do work well also, and have a low cash flow if one has a screw chuck or similar to use.

I found that adding some screw holes and fastening a wood waste block to the working face made the pendant jig use a bit more flexible without getting into the metal.

Ken,

The deluxe version of that pendant backer plate now comes with 4 screw holes in the indexable plate.

Agreed, a waste block is the way to go.

I take a different approach with the bracelets, I use a Hole saw, then make a smaller bracelet or earring with whats left with a smaller hole saw.
