looks good.  if it were me, i would get rid of the vehicle in the 8' bay, knock out the wall between your shop and the bay and have 1 large shop.  someday you will get a TS, DC, bigger lathe, ... and will wish you had the space.  but, that's just me. Wink

First two walls framed up this weekend.   It's pretty exciting to actually get started after thinking about it and planning for months.

Is there a reason you didn't frame to the ceiling?  Or are you going to have a heavy duty ceiling so you have storage space overhead?

Got to get the other two walls up, then add the ceiling joists.  Where the garage ceiling is 10', I'll go 8' in the shop.  Then I'll have 18" or so of flat storage on top of the shop.

Looks like it will work nicely.  I would want a bit more depth, but you have to work with what you've got.  Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Yeah, I really struggled with the 6 foot depth.  With my work, I just don't know when/if I may relocate again.  So I want to leave the garage with 3 car capacity, since this seems to be a big selling point with people.  Plus, with the winters here, got to get both cars, lawnmowers, snowblower etc inside.

Now if I knew I wasn't going anywhere for 20 years, I think I'd bite the bullet and add onto the garage.  That'd be sweet.

Yet another update after a good day's work yesterday.  Rooms always look smaller when they're just "sticks".  I know it's not huge, but it'll look bigger once the wallcovering is up.

Nice Update! I love that you're blogging your progress. I can't wait to see the finished project. That'll be a great view in front of the lathe.  thumbsup

Think of the ventilation he'll have the first time a piece gets away from him in that direction.  Shocked Shocked Cool Cool

May be a little tight, but there's still plenty room to go nice work.  thumbsup  Thanks for posting the progress. It's always fun to watch shop builds.

You were supposed to catch it, not duck.  Grin Grin Grin

My neighbor's garage window looks just like that today, but in her case, it is from 1 of yesterdays 3 hail storms.  I have damage to my car, roof, A/C unit, pool, paint, window screens, patio furniture...

No big trees down in the area that I could find.
