I don't know, maybe I'm over-thinking it. (by the way, Nice job so far! )

Hi Lark, forgive me I haven't been here for a while, but you & I think alike, I built my shop at the end of my garage also. May not be the biggest shop, but it's my little "nook" where I can go and enjoy the fine art & joy of woodturning as well as other forms of woodworking. I'm gonna miss it when I move in the next coming months, but who knows? maybe get a bigger shop in the new place. Anyway...well done. I like it!!

Can you stand yet another update? Thanks for all the nice comments. It's not going to be a "Norm" shop, but boy will it be nice to not have to walk from the basement (lathe) to the garage (chop saw, band saw, wood storage) over and over. Changing shoes each time, so SHMBO does NOT drop the hammer on me Grin

Primed and mostly trimmed. Drywall installer has been by to do a quote on the exterior of the room.

Shopping for 5' of base and wall cabinets. Looks like the unfinished ones at Lowe's may be the ones. Not having much luck with used ones.

Posts: 9602 Gender:	Re: My new shop Reply #36 - 10/22/10 at 06:41:09 Lark, along with the primer brightening the room for you, if you'll put a good coat of gloss or semi-gloss paint on as a top coat you won't have as much saw dust adhering to the walls and ceiling. Just a suggestion and really means very little to most. If you want to keep it "clean" then it might help a bit. Rev. Doug Miller

Posts: 5360 Gender:	Re: My new shop Reply #37 - 10/22/10 at 18:51:59 kind of late now, but... what i did with my shop was to paint the walls and ceiling, paint the trim a different color and then put the trim up. by painting the trim first, i could use a 3" roller and it went fast. also no messy cutting in.
