3D turned puzzle
Oct 12th, 2010 at 3:21am

Together with my friend Adriano we made a 3d turned puzzle.  The pieces are made of 2cm high wall nut.  Some have three layers of obnoxious shapes, making it mind boggling to assemble.  But the turning was another challenge as the rotation of the lathe dismantled every thing.
The globe is about 15"" in diameter.

Thank you all.
I took quite a lot of time.  Difficult to put it ion hours, but in elapsed time about a month 1/2. But it was not started in walnut but in scrap wood for trials and errors.

The idea of the 3D "sculpture" came after having visited an exhibition of the Spanish sculptor Miguel Berrocal
