I just checked a couple of shipping estimators for UPS and FedEx, and they both said it would be nearly eighty bucks to ship a 1 pound parcel to Ireland!  Shocked I'm kind of shocked. Is there any way to ship it there for less than that? I kind of thought those two were the cheapest game in town, but maybe that's not the case?

If it's that much to ship overseas, then sadly, it would be prohibitively expensive.  Sad

Mike,
It cost me almost $45 to ship a 15lb box to Bre in Ireland. I used a USPS international flat rate box like this. with these as long as it fits in the box it ships. A lot cheaper then anyone else.

It cost me, last year, about $4 to ship a Christmas dec to the US. I am further away than Brendan, they weigh next to nothing, so not too bad at all. IMHO smiley=beer.gif

Oh awesome! I just checked it out, and it's way cheaper than the quotes I got from the calculators at Fed-Ups!

Ok, Count me in for shipping to any of our international members!  smiley=thumbsup.gif

Yeah, it's nowhere near that much.  I just shipped 2 tank bibs to UK.  The box was 18x18x8 and weighed 4.25 pounds.  With tracking and $350 insurance it was only $49...that's way more than a single ornament would need/cost.  On the other side of the specturm, I shipped a couple of my burnishers to NZ, UK, Ireland and Sweden.  They are a bit lighter than an ornament but they only cost me $3.20 to ship to each of those places.  The bugger of it is the customs form.

Something to keep in mind when shipping international is there may be an additional delay in delivery due to customs inspection.  Make sure to mark the form as a gift with a low value.  The bibs hit UK customs on 10/15 and as of today were still being "inspected" even though I paid for 3-5 day delivery.  Sad

I shipped an 11.10oz parcel to Australia today, it cost $9.04

The only thing that gave me problems was sending to an island  someplace.... Turned out had to address it to Spain. Once the gal at the po figured it out things were fast easy and cheap.

YUP....

Here, if it isn't marked as a gift, we have to pay the Tax and an extra 25 Euros for them to get it from the Customs office too. Way crazy. bang head smiley=slap.gif

I am hoping we get a lot of members in this one. But, was thinking this morning, seems to me there is a fair amount of members all over the world, like the fella who did the globe puzzle, and a guy from Norway or Finland who was on the boards a  while ago and it seems like there is a few Irish turner members... Not to mention all the gals who have been on the boards lately...... Sure would be fun to get more of these people in this...

We already have 2 of those far flung members signed up.  I would like to see more participation from our closer members too.

Hey guys & gals, there is plenty of time for this.
