I finished a couple small projects and decided to clean my shop a little.  While it was semi-clean, I decided to take a few pics.

Here are a few pics, looking to the left.  The last is my pellet stove which sits just outside of my shop.  Keeps it a toasty 72 degrees in blustery cold winters.-Andy

Looks like a comfy place to play, Andy.  smiley=thumbsup.gif

Jim, a basement is a big hole under someone's house. It's so big you can stand up in it and everything. Strange, huh? I don't understand it either.  Grin Out here, they build up or sideways, not down.  Cheesy

That pellet stove not only looks good but will be the different between putting all those fine tools to work or not. Most of my tools are in my garage and won't see any use for months now. Heating it would cost a small fortune and since I rent this house I am not spending money on it.

I thought everyone had a basement?------Except where it is wet.

I bought the pellet stove last winter.  The basement will stay about 55 degrees in the winter without the stove.  Now I heat the basement, and of course the heat rises and helps out with the heating bills for upstairs.  The other day my wife went down and turned the stove to a higher setting and was 85 degrees down there.

I am really proud of my shop and enjoy spending my time there.  I didn't mention that the smaller jet lathe was my wifes.  She loves to turn too.....just not as much as me. Grin

a hobby you can share with LOYL is a great hobby.  enjoy your time spent together.

just think Jim.  if you dug a hole under your house and built your shop there, you could have a "cool" place to turn. Wink Wink

You bring up a good point, Dave. Seems it would make a lot of sense to have a basement in a desert house.

Very nice Andy, you did a great job with your basement shop.  Looks very comfortable  Cool

I love basements but where I live it would just be a second swimming pool!  Dig down 3 feet and you'll hit water  Cry

Is cleaning your shop before a picture in the same category as combing your hair before picture taking? Like the shop is so clean that you must have gussied it up otherwise you don't have a hobby besides cleaning. Nice shop btw. Besides hiding out in a basement in winter it also stays cool in summer and it is a place for your wife to send you and still stay in touch, for me like trial separation. Thanks for sharing the pictures. smiley=beer.gif smiley=thumbsup.gif

Very nice shop set-up , once had a gator hunter from Louisiana come here [Ohio] to hut deer with my family and it was the first he ever had been in a basement, he loved it.
