My New Shop
Dec 30th, 2010 at 6:40pm

New here, so thought I's share a bit. Shop is a freestanding 18 x 22 building. Long story behind it's arrival. Roll Eyes
(If the pictures don't work, remember, I'm new)
Still moving in and getting used the the 'round'

Greg

Nice shop even nicer tools.  All I see you are missing is a drill press.  Love the table saw.

Nice shop, cool tools and great windows.  I love how much light you get from the windows.

It looks insulated too, it looks nice and comfortable.

What a great shop, you should be proud.  smiley=thumbsup.gif

Thanks all,
Yes it's insulated, R30 in the ceiling and walls.
It's been a journey! Over 40 years in the making.
Most every thing is new to replace old rusted cheap crap.
The Unisaw was a lifelong dream.
The lathe was this years Christmas gift from my wife.
The other stuff was an unexpected windfall from from my mom when she passed last year.

When I get a chance, I'll detail it for you all. But in the meantime
Here's a shot facing the doors (with the DP Wink).
And one of my old 'shop'

Used well indeed!
With the 5'5" clearance I've developed a permanent Quasimodo stance. The support posts added a unique challenge to any thing over 4'. Add in the unique NJ basement smell and you have a very interesting work environment  Grin.
This is what the new shop replaced after Mother Nature deemed it was time:

So, what you are saying...is that the good Lord bestowed upon you one very nice sized tree to turn bowls from...and it came with a new shop attached?

LOL, In a way yes.

Unfortunately, I was so in shock after the devastation, all the wonderfully wood was dumpstered out of here. Cry. Huge 100 year old oaks, ash, and walnuts.) Just couldn't think straight. Sigh, my loss.
(Just a few of the logs in the background here)
