Lost space in workshop
Aug 25th, 2011 at 1:51pm

Today I lost quite a lot of space in my shop. Cry

The old bandsaw was a little  scrap one that I extended, it worked but only just ( usually had guards on the front ).... Undecided Smiley

The new one cost me a fortune, due to my location, but WOW what a difference. Smiley Smiley Smiley

Did you sell the old one for a boat anchor?  That looked terrifying.

THE OLD ONE WAS VERY SCARY !!!!!,but sometimes bad is better than nothing, as said, guards were fitted to the front, so not too bad.A bit of the old pioneer spirit, is how I like to look at it!!!! Roll Eyes, I can still count to 10 with my shoes on, so happy days....... I now have all safe stuff in the shop, if I use it wisely  Smiley, at last.

Sorry for the lack of dust on it, I have used it all day ( honest ) but cleaned it prior to taking the pics. Smiley

Wouldn't get here by then.  The slow boat would probably go the eastern USA by way of the Pacific ocean.

With that much excess weight, that "slow boat" would probably sink before it made the east coast!!! Grin Grin Grin

It is.  When I went to to the cape to visit my bro. I came back with a full suitcase.  all I had to deal with then was duty.  The cost of living in paradise.  smiley=lolk.gif

I think I would have taped a suitcase around a 10" BS & say it's luggage.  Grin  I probably would have brought 10 suitcases with me all filled with goodies.  Cool

Len,

As you say it's the price of living in paradise..........

This bandsaw , I can get for £400 with all the extras in the UK.,but had to pay 740 euros ( £650 ish ) without even the straight edge thingy or legs for it. This is why I had to use the old one, remodelled for such a long time. I think of it as a paradise tax. Cry

I'm jealous.  I finally used a real bandsaw a few months ago at the nearby turning club.  Makes the 9" Ryobi that I use all the time really look like a piece of junk!
