Jon,
Now that's how to save money.  smiley=beer.gif  How are you going to dry them so you can use them to build your shop?

I like your shop!  Thanks for sharing as it is always interesting to see other shops.  How do you like the Skil grinder?

Best regards,

Matt

Chuck,
There is a sawmill here locally that has a kiln and they have very reasonable rate that they charge.Last I checked it was 250 per 1000bdft sawn and kiln dried.I plan to start clearing the property this winter and may just get somebody with a porta-mill to come and saw it for me.Then let it air dry and it should be ready to go when I build my shop next fall.

Matt,
I really like the skil grinder. It has no vibration to it and is very quiet. In fact it is so quiet I have forgot about it being on a few times and accidentally left it running. It doesn't have much tourqe for heavy duty grinding but it fits the bill perfectly for sharpening.I am pleased with it for 45 bucks. It was a toss up between it and the Porter Cable at Lowes so I went for the skil.

Matt,
I'm surprised you got a good grinder for only $ 45 when I turn my Woodcraft one I can definitely hear it running. Where did you get it?

Chuck,

I got it at Lowes.I'm really surprised of how good it is for what I paid for it.

Chuck the Skil grinder uses a lightweight universal motor.  Even though it has a large size motor, it is no more powerful than some hand drills.
