I just re read the guidelines and noticed that it had to be something different from what I made last year. Since I made a birdhouse last year, does that rule out a different birdhouse for this year?

I have mine 2/3's done.  Still have to turn an ice cycle, but it is under control at this point.  Just have to work out when that part is going to get done.

It would have to be a totally different birdhouse.

Jim, where do I go to view last years?  I would like to see what might be expected an if i think if I can hold up my end.  If I jump in on this it will be my first hollow form.

I have mine mostly complete.  It just needs assembly and spraying with CLEAR lacquer.  I showed it to my wife, and she was dismayed I was sending it away.  Now I have to make her one like it.  I've learned a lot doing this, including hollowing something for the first time.  Quarter-inch walls are a little thick, but I decided to avoid the "just-one-more-cut" trap.  I did manage to destroy my first attempt.

OK I have several candidates and I can't decide which of them to use for this challenge and which go out for other secret Santa acts. Should I post a group shot and let the group decide or just draw finials?

Do you get so frustrated you need to go out to the draw bar?

I'm posted and without drawing finials or straws, changed my mind and I'm not sending a birdhouse again.

It looks like three of us are all in. How many more to join us?

These are too fun to miss out on. I especially love seeing everyone else's take on the design parameters and having the chance to hold someone else's work.
