Typically, when i was researching Kauri, I found most articles would give a range of 30,000 to 50,000 years old. I figure anything that pre-dates human history is close enough for me. Its a fun and interesting story to go with the pretty piece created from it.

I bought a piece of Kauri from Woodcraft and a description that came with it says that it was carbon dated to be 30000 to 50000 years old. I see that another website says 25000 to 50000 years old. I would think that would be a good margin for  error. I do know that it older then the dirt covering it  Wink

The difference may be just a different tree that was tested.
