I think it may be the one that Wizzy mentioned. I am very happy with how it helps me stay organized. KC

Thanks, Dave. The forum Search function kept timing out on me, so I was unable to find it.

Bret-- you have that new lathe that has 75% of us green with envy.
Stop fussing with tool holders, gouge handles etc etc--- turn some wood on that beautiful new baby.
Or ................we will form a committee and come and relieve you of it.

Bob I just turned a 10 1/2" x 3 1/2" Bowl using your technique. The curlies shot across the room almost 6' into the air I am hooked. The sides are to your specs less than 3/8" throughout. The thinner went through it . I had it cut from a log to placing it on a shelf in 5 or 6 hours. Had time to till the garden after. Thanks so much for your instructions. It is wonderful to have an almost finished product from green wood so soon. I will recoat again tomorrow. You can fuss at me any time!

This is what I did for a tool holder. Simple 3/4" plywood mounted under the lathe with holes drilled for all the tools I use constantly.

Looks ok, but my question is... is your lathe still level with the ply between the bed and leg? Believe it or not, it can cause your centers to become out of alignment and cause run out... just saying.

Looks like matching thicknesses of ply under the other corners.

Yes I have a matching piece under the drive side. I actually built it originally with the plywood going all the way across under the lathe, but was having trouble with the void filling with chips. Took it all apart again and cut the middle out. Seems to work fine and the centers match up.
