I have one, and it's done anything I've asked it to do. From coring 15" blanks to the tiniest spindle work. I have absolutely no complaints.

I have the DVR 3000, which is the predecessor to the DVR XP.
It is a great lathe!  I have never had any complaints with it.  I have the cast iron legs, which help alot with vibration.  The DVR 3000 is a bit slow to change speeds, but not any slower than changing a belt would be on another lathe.  I really like my Nova.

I have had one since 2008 and have used the heck out of it. It is a great lathe for the money. I recently ordered a new Robust American Beauty but I am going to keep my DVR XP in the shop.

I am used to twisting a know for changing speeds. I have found the DVR to be extremely slow for speed changes. It does have a lot of torque. I do prefer the sliding headstock to the pivoting ones. Easier to change over. They are good lathes, but not for me.

I've had one for about a year and a half, it's done everything I have asked it to do. The only problem I have is with the stand I built; it has a flat top and there is no place for chips to fall free.

Our club has one, and it has performed well. I'm with robo about the knob for changing speeds, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just something different to get used to. Everyone I've talked to that has one likes theirs.
