Reply #1 - 06/06/12 at 12:02:50 Ah...figured it out...here's the other 2 photos By the way, the shop is 24' x 20' with a 6' section divider to allow for 2 additional storage rooms, so the shop itself is 18' x 20'. Still a HUGE change from my little 177 sq. ft. shop, I used to have in the old home. ...bert

Anyone have any ideas on what layout I should do? Everything is mobile except the workbench & lathe. Ideas would be welcome. I hope to keep the center area clear so that when I need the tablesaw, I can just wheel it in the middle and have room to cut bigger pieces of plywood or whatever. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to lay it out. OH, and anyone have plans for a turning tool holder, that I can easily mount to the wall or below the lathe?

Bert, I used the Grizzly Shop planner tool to help me. You have to play around with it a little bit and re-size things here and there, but it's a big help. Here's a link:

You may also want to consider a work table for the center of the shop. I have one raised to be the same exact height as my table saw so it can act as an extension table if needed.

I've added an extra bay to my shop then put new tools in. Started over made a place for the dog and they even have a dog to put there.

Nice. I made my first real step towards finally getting my shop how I want it. I borrowed a trailer yesterday and piled it with junk as high as it would take it and I took it to the dump and said goodbye. Maybe we need a mens support group called "We CAN live without 96,384 PVC fittings"

How big is your building? Mine is 24' X 24" with an 18 foot door on one side. And sadly up until yesterday, had room only for one person. (But that's changed now)
