Hello From Oregon
06/25/12 at 08:05:46

I'm new here and I'm from Cottage Grove, Oregon.  I have a garage turning shop where my Jet 1014VS and Jet 1642 share space with my darlin' wife's car.  I started with pens a few years ago, then stopped turning then got back to it later on.  I still consider myself a beginner.

I've been to the last two AAW symposiums (St. Paul and San Jose) with a turning buddy and I'm a big admirer of Lyle Jamieson.    I just bought Lyle's hollow form boring system and it should be here this week.  I see that Craig Jackson is a member here and I use three of his full-size tools.  Don't know if anyone else I know is on here but I hope to make a few new turning friends.

I'm a combat-disabled Vietnam veteran and retired from a government career.

I'm looking forward to enjoying this forum and to learning a lot more about turning.

Chuck

Welcome to our not so little corner of the vortex.

You are likely to run into others here that you recognize the name.  Such as Doug Thompson, Dave Peebles, Vince Welsh...

Thank you for all the friendly welcomes.  I wasn't even sure that I should post but I'm glad I did.  I think I'm going to get a lot out of these forums and I look forward to sharing our experiences.

Chuck,
Like your parents told you. The only dumb question is the one not asked. So don't worry about it post anything you want.
