My only comment/critique would be that it seems to flatten out at the widest part on the main feature ring.

I think you owe it to yourself to make another one or two. You already did all the hard stuff, getting the sled set up, tweaking all the tools to accuracy and getting all your processes down to a science. I say go for it.

Thanks for all the comments. I do agree that a darker wood on the bottom would have added more wow. I used oak because it was already the correct thickness. My next one will probably have a burl wood for the bottom. I also had not noticed the flatness along the main feature ring. Another 1/2 inch extra diameter in the ring would have given me room to smooth out the transition. I found that figuring the length of a feature segment and calculating where to cut to achieve the desired diameter was the hardest challenge.
