After 30+ years the shop is reorganized
Jul 30th, 2012 at 12:01pm

When I got my dust collector it became apparent I was going to have to rearrange the shop.  It's 11x 30. After 30+ years it also got a real good cleaning.  Hauled a bunch of junk to the metal scrap yard, a bunch to the Habitat Restore and a trash bin a week to the trash.  After 3 weeks work it's almost done (I still need to go thru the pegboards and the cabinet.), but I think this is the most empty floor space I can remember.  I don't have to step around stuff to get across the room.  How long it will stay this way?  Oh a couple of weeks since we're headed to Minnesota for a short vacation.

I'm sure there was more than one "So that's where that went!" and "I didn't know I had that!".  Maybe even a "What the heck is this?". Smiley

There were several occurences of "Why in the world did I save that?"  Gonna be a lot more when I go thru the cabinet, it's become the junk drawer.  Funny story about the dinner bell.  Several years ago we recieved 3 of them as gifts all within the same year.  I used to threaten the son that I was going to use them as alarm clocks.

I find if I get it to clean I can't wait to start another project but again I don't want to mess it up so quickly either.  What a delema.   Undecided
Don't let this happen to you.

Good job, I've found that my shop has to be clean in order for me to focus on a project. I've just found that too many shavings create a potential fire and slip hazard. Call it one part my upbringing (Dad was a Marine) and one part my firefighter background.
