Regardless, Kauri is some really ancient wood and is still millable, even on the lathe. Great stuff to work with.

I guess I was looking at the names people had given the individual trees. Interesting to look these individual trees over and think about what might have taken place underneath, or at least within sight, of each of these trees. Oh how the imagination can run wild if you give it a little push.

Just let it grow in peace and appreciate it. I still can't believe anything can live that long.
