Didn't see New Zealand's Kauri trees.  Did I just miss them or did this article miss them?  Regardless, Kauri is some really ancient wood and is still millable, even on the lathe.  Great stuff to work with.

Over looked it the first time.  I guess I was looking at the names people had given the individual trees.  Interesting to look these individual trees over and think about what might have taken place underneath, or at least within sight, of each of these trees.  Oh how the imagination can run wild if you give it a little push.

The worst thing that can happen is when a very old spices is found is to put it on the news or other media. Just let it grow in peace and appreciate it. I still can't believe anything can live that long.
