wine barrel cabinets
Nov 19th, 2012 at 2:14am

Hi guys i was wondering if u could help me out a bit. I'm building wine barrel cabinets, my one customer wants to half barrels with glass doors in front. I was wondering if any of u have done something like this before, the hinges gives me a head ache, the only hinges i could get to work is the long travel cupboard hinge. What would u suggest or do u think i can make this work with that hinges? bang head

This is a turning forum, not flat work, not barrel work.  Sorry.

Herman, I'm not trying to be discouraging. We just concentrate on turning.  There are a couple of guys who do a bit of flat work.  Just not very much.  If I might offer a suggestion, I would use a piece of 1x with a curve on one side to match the edge of the barrel, the other edge straight.  Make the straight edge intersect with the curved edge.  Then you can use any hinges you desire.
