Here are some panoramic shots of my workspace. I share it with other artist. We are calling ourselves Cavern Art Collective. We are located in the old choice-woods location on Floyd street, Louisville KY.

Enjoy!

Let me know if you got any questions. Also if you are in Louisville on the 3rd Saturday of any month, feel free to stop in for some live music, wine, and a good time!

Matthew,

How does the multi-media art work out with dust etc. from the turning, and the other mediums? Does one interfere with the other?

The wood shop is pretty separate from everything else. Especially where most of the dust is made. We also have a pretty good collection system, and plan on putting in air filter/circulation soon.

In other words, have been there 4 months with no issues yet!

Very nice Matthew.  I worked in a shared space for ten years and love it.  I think I was more productive working there.

That's a sweet set-up!  How did you find the other artists and can I ask what your share of the rent is?

We had all been renting out of a bigger art space here in Louisville, but we didn't like management so we struck out on our own. I pay 200$ a month.

Matthew, do you have the whole back end or are you sharing that part of the building?  I was in there several times when our club met at Choice Woods.
Cool

We pretty much have the space that the pictures show. We are going to be renting out the partition next to it soon, and plan on moving towards the back of the building as spaces become available. The front part which was the hard wood floor section of choice woods is now being rented by a sister art collective that happened to like what we were doing, and wanted to get in on it.

Cool. Are the upstairs neighbors still there at night?

No, fortunately the upstairs folks are long gone. They are currently remodeling up there.
